First off, generally, nationality regards the country in which the person was born/resides. Therefore, someone with citizenship in the United States is an AMERICAN, even if they have a different ethnicity (aka - their heritage). For example: I am an American, though my ethnicity is half Asian and half Caucasian.
It really annoys me when people accuse America of just being a big ol’ group of racist/prejudice people who don’t like anyone different than themselves.
I’m pretty sure America is one of the greatest melting pots in the world. That’s what makes our country so diverse and wonderful. There are people of every creed and ethnicity from all over the world who come to live, work and make better lives in this country. People live free from overt corruption that is present in many other countries (which I have PERSONALLY seen). Sure, there are obviously going to be close minded people still lurking that do harbor hatefulness and ignorance when it comes to certain issues. Regardless, they have the freedom to think that way if they wish, no matter how perverse it may be. At the end of the day, I am DAMN PROUD to call myself an American! So for people to sit behind their computers and rant about how unfair and biased Americans are is just beyond me. How you so carelessly stereotype Americans really just makes you look like the ignorant one. Stereotyping a whole group of individuals based on the actions of a few or even just your own assumptions is exactly that - ignorance.
People getting me all upset over the damn results of a crappy singing competition! Let’s think about this logically: a majority of people who watch the show are what? Female. Who do you think these women (a good percentage being younger girls) are going to vote for between the two contestants? A pretty girl (nope, probably not) or an attractive young guy? (DING DING DING WE HAVE A WINNER). That’s usually how it goes, unfortunately. It’s not because they didn’t like Jessica because she is Filipino (actually, she is half Filipino and half Mexican-American), they just liked Phillip better because he is an attractive southern boy! Simple as that.
Stop being annoying. Those in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. Just saying.
that Jennifer Holliday/Jessica Sanchez duet was doooooooopeee.
holymoly.
watching the show right now makes me glad I stopped watching this show a few seasons back. Basically all these past contestants singing with Neil Diamond right now suuuuck. just saying. that being said, that filipina Jessica should win, from what I’ve seen. GOTTA REPRESENT FOR MY PEOPLE!
The Voice has become a far superior and more entertaining singing show, in my opinion.
